Can I configure different privileges for different users (read only, configurator, admin, etc)?
Yes, you can configure different privileges for different users in Instabase. The system allows you to manage organization member permissions through roles, which can be assigned at both the organization and workspace levels. Here are the key roles and their permissions:
-
Organization Level Roles:
- Member: This is the default role for all organization members and confers no special privileges beyond accessing workspaces to which they are added.
- Admin: This role can be assigned only at the organization level and grants wide-ranging administrative permissions across all workspaces in the organization.
-
Workspace Level Roles:
- Member: Inherited from the organization level unless otherwise assigned.
- Manager: This role can be assigned at the workspace level and grants administrative permissions within that specific workspace.
-
Group Roles:
- Member: Default role for group members, allowing access to any workspace to which the group is added.
- Manager: Group-specific administrative privileges, including adding and removing group members and assigning other group managers.
- Admin: Organization admins added to a group inherit the Admin role in all contexts.
You can assign these roles through the AI Hub interface by navigating to the settings and members sections, where you can add members, assign roles, and manage permissions accordingly.
For more detailed steps on assigning roles and managing permissions, refer to the “Managing members” and “Managing groups” sections in the Instabase documentation.
Yes! Plus, more Workspace-Level Roles are in development later this year to support read-only access for testing workflows and streamline the Human Review experience. Stay tuned for updates in our product webinars and newsletters.
